Olde Main Street Inn
A Bed and Breakfast in a Rustic Country Inn, located in the beautiful and historic Pine Ridge country of Northwest Nebraska
|When the OHanlon
family undertook to build the elegant Chadron House in the late 1800s, they spared no
expense. A portion of the gold and green wallpaper covered with gazebos, sailing ships and
flora remains to remind us of the early days of elegance when Brussels carpeting covered
the staircases and guests enjoyed the luxury of marble washstands in each room.
100 years later, three generations of innkeepers again are operating the Chadron House, now known as the Olde Main Street Inn, working diligently at the loving restoration of the old "Faded Lady."
We invite you to return with us to the 1890s. Spend a moment relaxing in the wide halls of the old hotel, imagining the days when the heavy boots of General Nelson Miles walked these halls as he and his staff took headquarters during the Wounded Knee incident. A boardwalk fronted the hotel; the railroad was booming.
It was reported in the Chadron Democrat in 1890 that "hotel laurels will have to be brushed up when the cuisine of the Hotel Chadron is once more in full blast." Times have changed since 1890, but the same could be reported of the Olde Main Street Inn today. We proudly offer to you the diverse menu in our dining room, which includes prime rib, a catch of the day, buffalo, lamb, and an assortment of homemade chilis, soups, and desserts, to mention just a few of the items.
"...the affable personality of Jeanne Goetzinger and the wonderful meals her daughter cooks are two of the best reasons for including the Olde Main Street Hotel in Chadron in your vacation plans this summer."
