The Chadron State College senior art show for Fall 2017 will open on Monday, Nov. 20 in the Main Gallery of Memorial Hall. The show, titled “Happy Accidents & Oddities,” features the work of graduating seniors, Rebecca Barger, Brooke Nelson, and Tory Snyder. Rebecca Barger, a native of Atkinson, NE, is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a Field Endorsement in Art K-12. She will be exhibiting photographs, paintings, stained glass, drawings, ceramics, and sculpture. Her pieces explore her personality and her connection to family. Brooke Nelson is graduating with a degree of Bachelor of Arts with a comprehensive major in art, option graphic design. Brooke, a ranch girl who calls Phillip, SD her hometown, shares her love of horses, rodeo, and ranch life through her variety of pieces. She will be exhibiting drawings, paintings, stained glass, sculpture, and graphic design. Tory Snyder, hometown Pierre, SD, is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a Field Endorsement in Art K-12 and a subject endorsement in History 7-12. Tory’s pieces are centered on her identity, love of her home state, and family (pets included). Mediums she will be exhibiting include ceramics, paintings, photographs, drawings, and stained glass. A reception for the artists will take place on Friday, Dec. 1 from 4:00 p.m.-6 p.m., in Memorial Hall. The hours of the gallery are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. “Happy Accidents & Oddities” will be showing from Monday, Nov. 20 to Friday, Dec. 8, 2017.
