Ribbon Cutting for Cowboy Trail in Chadron
On Wednesday, May 8, the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy will host a social media live broadcast to reveal the preferred route of the Great American Rail-Trail. The Great American Trail will span more than 3,700 miles from Washington D.C. to Washington State, and will go right through Chadron.
This is an exciting time for Chadron, as well as the Northwest Nebraska Trails Association (NNTA). The NNTA recently secured funds to complete the Nebraska Game and Parks-owned portion of the Cowboy Trail and the NNTA is working to obtain an easement to connect the trail to downtown Chadron. This trail and its connection will provide a safe, alternative bike/walk route for our community and has the potential to draw in tourists to our scenic area.
I am inviting you to our local event celebrating the Cowboy Trail as part of the Great American Trail Wednesday, May 8, at Railroad Park in Chadron from noon to 1:00 pm. The NNTA and the Chadron Chamber of Commerce will be grilling hot dogs for lunch and the Chamber Ambassadors will cut a ribbon to commemorate the occasion. An optional bike ride of the future trail will begin at 1:00 pm. Join in either in-person or watching the festivities on Facebook Live at approximately 12:15 pm.Ribbon Cutting for Cowboy Trail in Ch...Date and Time
